Protection of the environment has in fact been an important priority for decades at the Mercedes-Benz axle production plant in Kassel – not just as one in a long list of objectives, but as a key element of a business strategy and environmental policy focused on generating and adding value over the long-term.

Over the last twelve years we have commissioned voluntary audits of our environmental performance and work structures at Kassel, as the basis for the ongoing testing and enhancement of environmental protection at our production site.

Compliance with strict environmental standards and an ongoing commitment to the conservation of natural resources have become an established part of the plant’s profile. Regular internal eco-audits of our environmental management system introduced in 1995 allow the continuous improvement of the already impressive environmental standards met at our manufacturing plant.

We participate actively in the dialogue on the environmental impacts from our production activity, along with the ongoing formulation and monitoring of environmental targets for the continuous improvement of environmental protection in and around the plant.
